- Age Verification
- The process of confirming a user is legally old enough to gamble.
- Arbitrage
- Placing bets on all possible outcomes across different books to guarantee a profit regardless of result.
- Asian Handicap
- A handicap betting system that eliminates the draw by giving a half‑ or quarter‑goal advantage to the underdog.
- Bankroll
- The total amount of money set aside for placing bets.
- Bonus Wagering Requirement
- The number of times a bonus must be wagered before it can be withdrawn.
- Cashout
- The option to settle a bet before the event ends, accepting a reduced payout.
- Deposit Match
- A bonus that matches a percentage of the deposited funds, subject to wagering conditions.
- Expected Value (EV)
- The average amount a bettor can expect to win or lose per bet if placed repeatedly.
- Free Bet
- A promotional bet credited to the account that can be used without risking the bettor's own money.
- Futures
- A bet on an event that will be decided in the future, such as which team wins the tournament.
- Hedge
- Betting on the opposite outcome to reduce risk or lock in a profit after an initial wager.
- In-play betting
- Placing bets on a match while it is in progress, with odds that update in real time.
- Juice
- The commission charged by the sportsbook on a bet, also called vig.
- Kelly Criterion
- A mathematical formula that calculates the optimal bet size based on the perceived edge.
- KYC
- The process of verifying a customer's identity to prevent fraud and meet regulatory requirements.
- Line Movement
- The change in odds or point spread over time as more bets are placed.
- Moneyline
- A bet on which team will win the match, with odds shown as a positive or negative number.
- Over/Under
- A wager on whether the total number of goals in a match will be over or under a set line.
- Parlay
- A single bet that combines multiple selections; all must win for the bet to pay out.
- RTP
- The theoretical percentage of total wagered money that a game returns to players over time.
- Self-Exclusion
- A tool that lets a player voluntarily block their own account for a chosen period.
- Spread
- The points handicap assigned to a team to make both outcomes equally attractive for bettors.
- Unit
- A standard bet size, usually a fixed percentage of the bankroll, used to manage risk.
- Value Bet
- A wager where the odds offered are higher than the true probability of the outcome, giving an expected edge.
